A walking club provides support for stroke survivors, bringing together over a dozen individuals who have formed friendships. One member, Omar Salinas, a nurse, experienced a life-changing event on June 2, 2016, when he collapsed at his workplace. He spent a week in the hospital and 12 weeks in rehabilitation, working to regain mobility, particularly on his left side.

The walking club is part of Salinas' ongoing recovery. Additional activities, such as art classes and weight training, are also available to members. Further details about the walking club and its activities can be found through the Laredo Stroke Support group.
